  • Traveling is one of our favorite activities - from a way-too-soon into dating trip to Switzerland that cemented our relationship to many trips with friends and family all over the world, we love travel as a way to better connect with each other and the world around us.

After studying abroad in Madrid, Ahrim fell in love with the slow pace of life and focus on enjoying time with the people you love over long meals late into the night. She shared that love with Josh early in the relationship and after getting over his initial reluctance about the "girl who can't stop romanticizing her study abroad adventures" he was quickly seduced by oloroso sherry, jamón serrano, quality olives, and deliberate time spent with loved ones. Madrid has since become one of our favorite places away from home in Brooklyn.

As we thought about how we wanted to celebrate our marriage with the people we love the most, we realized we wanted that same spirit of slow time, quality food, and great conversation late into the night to permeate our wedding.

We know it’s a long journey, but we can’t imagine a better way to celebrate than by gathering in Toledo, exploring Spain side by side, and savoring time together — turning the fleeting moments of our wedding into memories we’ll treasure forever.

  • Wedding festivities begin on Saturday, May 23rd, and the wedding is taking place on Sunday, May 24th. We would recommend arriving at least 1-2 days before the big day - that gives you time to adjust, explore, and avoid sprinting from the airport in formalwear.

  • Madrid-Barajas International Airport (MAD) is your best bet. From there, it’s about an hour by train or taxi to Toledo. Check out our Travel & Stay page for more info.

  • We’ll be hosting welcome drinks for all guests on Saturday, May 23rd and a goodbye brunch on Monday, May 25th. More details to come!

  • We have more information on hotel suggestions here.

  • Please plan for cocktail attire. Outfit inspiration to come soon, but plan to wear whatever makes you feel beautiful :)

  • Yes! We’d love for your little ones to join the celebration as well. Toledo is a great city for families, and we’ll do our best to make sure the day is fun (and manageable) for guests of all ages. Just be sure to include them in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

  • Sunny, warm, and dreamy. May is one of the best times to visit Spain — think mid-70s (F) by day and cooler evenings in the mid-50s (F) perfect for dancing under the stars.

  • Yes! A few things that might help as you plan your trip:

    • Weather: Late May in Toledo is warm and sunny - perfect for exploring, but bring sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks in the shade during the afternoon.

    • Reservations: It’s a popular travel season, so we recommend booking restaurants and rooftop bars in advance.

    • Pace of life: Expect a slower rhythm than back home… many shops close mid-afternoon for siesta (around 2–5pm).

    • Meal times: Lunch is typically around 2–3pm, and dinner starts closer to 8:30pm or later.

    • Tipping: Not expected, but appreciated. We’d say 5–10% at restaurants is generous; rounding up at cafés or in taxis is perfect.

    • Getting around: Ubers and metro work well in Madrid, but not in Toledo. Once you’re there, everything is walkable, and there’s a local taxi service if needed (+34 925 252 064).
